MIR 613 International Organizations


This course will enable students to gain understanding of the major theoretical and empirical aspects of the role of international organizations in international politics. Attention will be given to the impacts of international organizations on international cooperation and conflict; international peace and security; and, the management of international economic relations.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discuss the theoretical approaches and empirical issues in the study of international organizations.
  • Gain knowledge about how international organizations manage international economic relations.
  • Discuss the primary theories pertinent to the role of international organizations in international politics.
  • Discuss the main issues confronting international organizations.
