BHS 300 Introduction to Environmental Health (3 Credits)

This course is for students pursuing careers in the health sciences. The course shows students how the environment impacts health. General ecological principles are explored. Human interaction with the environment is explored.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Provides an overview of environmental health and the critical nature of environmental health issues to survival.
  • Demonstrates how the environment affects health and what can be done to prevent or minimize negative impacts on the environment.
  • Engage in the analysis and understanding of health and environmental issues.
  • Critically review professional journal article in the health sciences for the illustration of course concepts.
