David Brian Fucci is the Bishop for the Province of the Western United States and Diocesan Bishop for the Diocese of Chaplain Services for the Western Orthodox Christian Church which is accredited and certified to endorse chaplains by the Armed Forces Chaplains Board, US Veterans Affairs Department and the US Bureau of Federal Prisons. David is a Benedictine Monk and the Abbott General for the Benedictine Order of the Holy Cross (BOHC) with 23 years of active ministry as a Deacon, Priest and Bishop. He graduated from EL Camino College [AS in Administration of Justice], Regents College [BS in Psychology], Geneva Theological College (Now known as Greenwich School of Theology, UK [BA in Religion] & [Master of Divinity], Southern California Institute [Doctor of Psychology]. David was awarded the Honorary Degree and Title of Doctor of Divinity [D.D.] from Saint Ambrose Institute. Bishop Fucci is a Departmental Chaplain for the San Diego Fire Department, California State Military Reserve (California National Guard), Civil Air Patrol, American Red Cross and San Diego County Chaplain Corps he has also served as a Volunteer Chaplain for 3 years at Rady's Children's Hospital and as a Community-Based Chaplain for 2 years at the La Jolla Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Bishop Fucci has completed 4 units of CPE and is a Clinical Certified Chaplain with the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains, an Advanced Certified Chaplain-Master Level from the Federation of Fire Chaplains and a Board Certified Chaplain and Board Certified Pastoral Counselor from the National Association of Orthodox Chaplains. Bishop Fucci holds membership in the California State Fire Chaplain Association, Federation of Fire Chaplains, United States Military Chaplain Association and is a Professional Chaplain Member of the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains and Professional Chaplain Member of the National Association Orthodox Chaplains. In the area of psychology and pastoral counseling Dr. Fucci is considered an expert by the US Department of Defense in the assessment and treatment of PTSD with over 19 years of experience treating our military soldiers, airmen and sailors. Dr. Fucci is a Licensed Psychoanalyst by the State of Vermont and a Board Certified Psychoanalyst by The American Academy of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalyst Practitioners. Dr. Fucci held a Registered Psychologist certification in California in order to complete his 3000 hours of pre-doctoral and post-doctoral requirements for licensure in California as a psychologist he also has taken several courses in Crisis Intervention and Peers Support and holds membership in the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, the International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi) as a lifetime member and is a member of Mensa.
