Faculty Bio

Dr. Anita Abbott is a progressive educator, drawing from years of experience working in higher education and vocational teaching, both in traditional face-to-face settings and in distance learning programs. Her expertise extends to politics, international relations, human rights, security issues, strategic partnerships, diplomacy, sovereignty, and transnationalism. Anita accomplished her PhD in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Waikato. She holds a Master of Education (with distinction) from the University of Canterbury, and a master's degree in International Relations and Human Rights from the University of Auckland. She also holds a certificate in adult teaching, and certificate in teaching adults numeracy and literacy. Her research skills have led her to a number of writing and editing roles: an associate editor for International Journal of the Humanities; a reviewer for The University of London Educate Journal; a guest writer for Oil Voice; and an independent writer.
