M.Phil 600 Philosophy of Anthropology (3 Credits)

Philosophy of Anthropology will explore the philosophical, theological, cultural and cultural interpretations of the 'human person' and his or her relationship both to self and the world inhabited physically and spiritually. Topics that will be discussed include the mind-body problem/ eliminative materialism, behaviorism, the type-type identity thesis, and reductive materialism.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the fundamental aspects of Philosophical Anthropology and be able identify major Anthropologists.
  • Critically analyze and criticize the Philosophical Anthropological views of others.
  • Formulate ideas and express them at various levels of abstraction.
