B.Ed 401 Adult Learning (3 Credits)

Topics include: characteristics of the adult learner, lifespan issues for adults with behavioral and learning disabilities, adult program planning and management, learning strategies for adults, adult literacy and diversity, learning in teams and groups, and consulting skills in an adult learning environment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn how to apply the concepts of motivation, reinforcement, retention and transference in the context of adult learning. Understand the special needs of adult learners.
  • Analyze adult program planning and management, learning strategies for adults, adult literacy and diversity, learning in teams and groups, and consulting skills in an adult learning environment.
  • Learn how to enhance adult learners' social relationships, external expectations, social welfare, personal advancement, stimulation and cognitive interest.
